Private lenders as well as the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) will make land loans in the Sanderson and Dryden area. Private lenders have been asking for about 20% down, around 6-7% interest, on 10-20 year loans. As of this writing, VLB is asking 5% down, 7.25% interest, on land loans of up to $150,000 for qualified veterans.
